Mirror, Mirror...in the Classroom Contest

Hi all,

Today I laminated and cut out the wonderful Kids of Character set by Lisa at Learning is Something to Treasure.  I can't wait to use these!

I went to the dollar store and purchased a couple of cheap frames.  While I was there I saw a mirror. I seem to remember seeing somewhere out on the web a picture (probably on pinterest) of someone with a  mirror in their classroom with a cute saying around it.  I bought the mirror, but can't think of anything to say with it.  So I'm soliciting advice for a catchy, positive phrase to decorate the mirror with.

I'll be giving a $10 gift card from Amazon to the person who comes up with the best idea for me, since my creative juices aren't flowing.  In order to win, you must follow my blog and leave your e-mail address in the comments so if I choose you as the winner I can contact you.  The winner will be chosen at 9:00 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time on Tuesday.  Good luck!

In the meanwhile, here's a picture of my 1st day frame that I made.  Yes, I'm pretending my kitty is a first grader.  LOL

Finally, I wanted to thank those who have left feedback on my vocabulary cards.  It's nice to be appreciated after all that work.  If you don't know what I'm talking about, go check out my teacherspayteachers store for a bunch of vocabulary freebies.

    1. I love this idea, but it's too close to the beginning of the school year for me to make something this complicated. Maybe for next year. Thanks, Lin.

    1. I love this idea, but had trouble deciding what would go around the rest of the frame. I still might use it. Thanks, Jenni.

    1. This idea made me want to get another mirror to put in front of my "stop and think" desk. I might just have to do that...Thanks for sharing such a nice idea.

    1. Yet another wonderful idea! I just couldn't figure out how to get it all to fit and look nice around the frame. However, I might have to use it as a bulletin board quote with pictures the kids have drawn of their faces. Thanks!

    1. Love it! I wanted to piggy back yours with Lin's and have the rotating wheel so it could be reader, writer, friend, problem solver, etc. Again, it just became too complicated. But I might wind up doing it another year.

  7. I love the idea of a frame for the first day of school! I don't have anything too witty to add but Dr. Seuss has a way with words, "Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”

    1. I absolutely love Dr. Seuss quotes! This was a hard one for me to decide not to do. Mostly because I'd want to decorate it with lots of Seussy stuff which I don't currently have. Thanks for the idea.

  8. I'm thinking of that old Mr. Rogers song, "I'm proud of you, I'm proud of you, I hope that you are proud as I am, proud of you, I'm proud of you, I hope that you are proud of you, too." :)

    1. Jennie! I'm glad you found me. :) I understand why you left fb, but I sure miss hearing from you there. I just read your blog post. I'll see if I can write down the titles of books and things that go with the five senses when I'm in my room.
